Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I ordered two combination dinners because I found a coupon online. I specified this over the phone when ordering and it seemed like no issue. I arrived to pick up my food and was being charged full price. I presented the online coupon to the manager who then tried telling me it was for a different restaurant. When I showed him the name and address at the top, he then said they would not honor it because the owner never informed him about it. I refuse to patronize an establishment that won't honor their own coupons. Absolutely horrible business practice.

The service was good, and pretty quick. We went there when it was about to close so I will update this later after going during more peak hours, but I was less than impressed. The steak quesadilla had so little cheese on it that you could flip it open to see everything inside. The ingredients inside WERE good (Steak, peppers, etc), but there should have been WAY more cheese. The jumbo burrito was meh. Ground beef, not shredded, so this talk of authenticity is confusing to me. The guacamole and margaritas are delicious, for sure. I'll probably go back, since there are so few Mexican places around here, and give it another shot. But if there were more options, I wouldn't.

The only reason I gave it one star was for the great service, the food was awful unless you like con queso cheese on everything and don't order the chili relleno because you won't find a chili. The taco shells were pre made ones that break on first bite and it was expensive for awful food, even the salsa was barely passable

Yummy food!!! I love this place they have great food and large portions for the price. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the decor is colorful and well arranged. We asked for extra salsa and chips and they quickly and happily brought us more even though they had already brought us two servings. Overall was very impressed by this place and feel it is a must stop if you are in the area.

I used to love this place - but they have gotten really slow over the past year and the food quality just isn't there.

I had the potato burrito and bean enchilada with rice. No cheese at all this way. They have a 'vegetarian' section on the menu, but not a 'vegan' section per se. Our food was brought out very hot--sizzling! Fun atmosphere with colorful benches and Mexican music. Attentive waiters until the end of our meal at which point it took a while to get the check.

Excellent food. Generous with chips & salsa, which is also very good. The service is great, and the food is ready in a jiffy. Love this place

Was impressed by this place. Very authentic, extensive menu, good prices. Must admit I am always hesitant to try places recommended by the hotel staff but this was solid. Service was pretty good, not great.

Very authentic tasting mexican food for the area. It's on par with the food that is in wide variety on the west coast, which I'm accustomed to. The service was average. Calcutta seems like it as the place was packed on a Thursday night. I'm guessing the fact that they have a full bar helps.

I was not as thrilled with the one in Chippewa. To me, the menu was the same, but that was it. Calcutta seems to give you more food, a better price and better service. Not to say the Chippewa location wasnt good, it is. But in my opinion, Calcutta wins!

Althought I haven't been to this location, the one in Chippewa was excellen!. They seriously had the best service, best food, best menu that I've seen in a long time. The food came out very quickly after ordering. You can get take-out from here and I recommend it also. The atmosphere was very family friendly. There were so many food conbinations you can create. Cant wait to go back!

Food is very good, as is the service. My problem is the owner. He's stupid enough to believe no one in Calcutta speaks Spanish. Well i do, and had to bite my tongue from confronting this jerk as he insulted me while talking to the guest at the next table who was clearly a regular. If you choose to eat here, what might they be saying about you?
